New Research Center Yields Product Advances for Nature’s Sunshine and Synergy WorldWide

A discovery at Nature’s Sunshine’s new research center has given the company further insights into the potential of one of its top-selling products.

Scientists at the Hughes Center for Research and Innovation, opened earlier this year by Nature’s Sunshine, have discovered additional benefits of ProArgi-9+, a supplement sold through the Synergy brand. The formula contains the amino acid L-arginine, which the body converts into nitric oxide to support circulatory and cardiovascular health.
A clinical evaluation revealed that the combination of ingredients in ProArgi-9+ not only supplies L-arginine, but also effectively blocks myeloperoxidase—an enzyme that inhibits the creation of nitric oxide—and reduces the harmful oxidation of LDL cholesterol.
“This is why we invested millions of dollars to build the Hughes Center for Research and Innovation,” said Chairman and CEO Gregory Probert. “The knowledge we gain through the Hughes Center truly advances the science of feeling better and helps us transform lives around the world.”
In a statement, Nature’s Sunshine said it has filed a U.S. provisional patent application pertaining to the ProArgi-9+ formula.
